CSSP Poster Competition Report 2013
This year’s (2013) Poster competition theme was Chemistry : Enhancing Food Security . The CSSP Poster drew a total of 259 students from 43 schools from the central eastern, western and northern divisions. The preliminary judging was done at the various Centre’s where the society’s preliminary competitions were held. A total of 60 posters being picked from all centers for the final judging process, from these 60 posters 25 posters were picked .These 25 posters were judged by the participants of the Mainstreaming Food Security in Higher Education symposium that was held at the Peninsula Hotel on the 23rd August 2013 to select the top 3. The participants comprised of Government officials and representatives of WHO ,SPC (Secretariat of the Pacific Community) ,FSTE, FAO AND OTHER NGO’s The criteria used for the judging was kept constant throughout all stages of judging keeping in mind the three main pillars of food security which is Food Availability : Agriculture , Food Access : Money to buy and Food Utilization : Nutritional Value of food .The combination of creativity and expressive art skills shown by the students to get the theme across made it a daunting task as always to pick the best. The top 3 prize getters for the CSSP Poster Competition were as follows
1st Prize: Pita Penijueli Timate, Eremasi Niudamu of Natabua High School
2nd Prize: Sweta Shristi Raj of Penang Sangam High School
3rd Prize : Sweeta Ram , Devashna Prasad ,Kushaal Kumar and Amitesh Sharma of Khalsa College Ba
